Songbird™ and Nightingale (which is a fork from it) are desktop Web-players, digital jukebox and Web browser mash-up. Like Winamp, they support extensions and skins feathers. Like Firefox®, it is built from Mozilla®, cross-platform and open source.
Currently SongBird is not officially supported for Linux systems, but thanks to Getdeb community we can enjoy a Debian version built using the Open-source code of SongBird.
Here's how you can install Song-Bird for Ubuntu
- First Install the GetDeb package from Getdeb.com
- Update repository by typing in these commands in the terminal: sudo apt-get update
- Install SongBird by typing in: sudo apt-get install songbird
